North Star Volunteer Fire Department's New Website

We want to welcome you to the new North Star Volunteer Fire Department Website.  This site was relaunched at the end of February 2011 after not being maintained since 2009 with an all new web interface.  We are learning the new program and will now be posting information in a more timely manner.  If you would like to see something in particular you may email Fire Chief Jeff Tucker at jtucker@northstarfire.org  We thank you for you patience as we try to make this new site informative and a place you want to return to.

NSVFD Annual Awards Banquet PDF Print E-mail

North Star Volunteer Fire Department held its’ annual awards banquet Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Regency Hotel in Fairbanks. 

 

North Star Volunteer Fire Department recognized all those that volunteered their time and services to the department in 2010. North Star also recognized the departments’ founding members and life members who were present.  

 

The following special awards were recognized: 

 

  • Chief Officer of the Year, Justin Boddy
  • Line Officer of the Year, Charles Potter
  • Engineer of the Year, Skyler Gallien
  • Firefighter of the Year, Alyssa Quaile
  • Recruit Firefighter of the Year, Mic Poague
  • Resident Firefighter of the Year, Zachary Rittel
  • Trainer of the Year, Charles Fezatte
  • Support Person of the Year, Patty Tucker
  • Explorer of the Year, Kathryne Stalker

 

The North Star Volunteer Fire Department could not provide the quality Fire and EMS services to the resident’s visitor of the North Star Fire Service Area without the services of our volunteers.  In 2010 our Volunteers Firefighters gave back to the community over 53,000 hours of volunteer time training for and responding to calls for service.
